Visteon/Parrot hands-free system on Nissan Bluebird Sylphy in China

Sep 22, 2006 3:00 PM

Visteon Corporation (www.visteon.com) said Nissan Bluebird Sylphy vehicles (www.nisson.co.jp) in China are equipped with a Bluetooth hands-free telephony system designed by Visteon Corporation (www.visteon.com) in collaboration with automotive Bluetooth specialist Parrot S.A. (www.parrot.biz/usa).

The system is manufactured at the Yanfeng Visteon Automotive Electronics plant in Shanghai. Visteon earlier launched hands-free Visteon Voice Technology systems for Nissan in North America and other key markets. The Bluebird Sylphy system incorporates digital signal processing technology developed by Parrot and is said to offer a high degree of compatibility with mobile phone devices.

Martin Thoone, Visteon’s global director of audio and infotainment, said Visteon’s collaboration with Parrot enables Visteon to offer advanced features at competitive prices. He added, “Our relationship provides faster time-to-market for our infotainment products and allows us to meet the increasing requirement for seamless integration of portable consumer electronics.”
