Connected Vehicle Proving Center opens in Ann Arbor

The State of Michigan, the Center for Automotive Research and the Connected Vehicle Trade Association have opened the Connected Vehicle Proving Center at the Center for Automotive Research in Ann Arbor.

The CVPC will be a proving ground for testing, evaluating and showcasing connected vehicle systems. It will integrate connected vehicles, smart roadway infrastructure and telecommunication technologies, and provide expertise in evaluation design, data storage and analysis, and information sharing. Steve Underwood, director of the Center for Automotive Research’s Transportation and Information System Planning Group, will serve as director of the CVPC.

When fully operational, the CVPC will serve as an incubator with an advanced test and evaluation environment the can be accessed by OEMs, automotive suppliers, transportation agencies, and communications companies.
