Techwell expands infotainment display processor line

Jan 17, 2008 2:15 PM

Techwell, Inc. has added five mixed-signal liquid crystal display (LCD) processor integrated circuits to its product line, all targeting infotainment applications.

The TW8810 is an LCD thin film transistor (TFT) flat panel controller for Sharp’s dual-view LCD panel for front console and rear-seat automotive infotainment applications. The TW8810 integrates an NTSC/PAL/SECAM 3-D video decoder and a 2-D de-interlacer with low-angle compensation. It has built-in PIP and dual-window bit-mapped OSD functions. It supports analog inputs including CVBS, S-Video, YPbPr & RGB signals and digital inputs including 8/16/24 bit RGB/YCbCr.

The TW8811 is a multipurpose LCD TFT flat panel controller that also integrates a 3-D video decoder and 2-D de-interlacer as well as a CCFL controller and a LED controller. It supports the same analog and digital inputs as the TW8810. The TW8811 can drive digital and analog panels up to WXGA resolutions.

The TW8816 is a multipurpose LCD display solution with a 2-D NTSC/PAL/SECAM video decoder and a 2-D de-interlacer with low angle compensation. It integrates an 8-bit MCU and a CCFL controller and has a built-in font-based OSD.

The TW8817 is a low-cost TFT flat panel controller that integrates a 2-D NTSC/PAL/SECAM video decoder and a 2-D de-interlacer with low-angle compensation, an 8-bit 8051 MCU, a CCFL controller and a LED controller. It supports analog inputs including CVBS & S-Video signals and drives digital panel up to SVGA resolutions.

The TW8827 is a low-cost LCD TFT flat panel controller supporting analog panels. It integrates a NTSC/PAL/SECAM video decoder supporting CBVS & S-Video inputs, an 8-bit MCU, a CCFL controller and a LED controller. It also includes a 4H comb filter and a 2-D de-interlacer with low-angle compensation. Analog inputs include CVBS & S-Video signals and digital inputs include 16-bit RGB/YCbCr. The TW8827 can drive analog panel up to WQVGA resolutions.
