RaySat introduces in-motion satellite TV antenna for Japan automotive market

Jan 5, 2006 4:00 PM

RaySat Inc. has introduced an in-motion satellite TV antenna for the Japanese automotive market that measure just 40 cm (16 inches) in diameter and 4 cm (1.6 inches) in height. The circular, polarized antenna enables reception of all standard definition (SD), free-to-air and Skyperfect TV channels in JSAT 110 west BS/CS satellites all over Japan, and high-definition (HD) channels in the southern part of Japan. The antenna will work with existing mobile TV receivers available for DVB-S and DVB-T in Japan, according to RaySat chairman and CEO Yoel Gat. Noting that the antenna is among the first to scan the elevation angle electronically, Gat said it would enable RaySat to introduce low-cost, low profile antennas elsewhere, including the United States.
