Pioneer adds Google to navi systems

Jul 2, 2008 11:51 PM

Pioneer Electronics (USA) has added Google features to its navigation systems. AVIC-F series navigation systems, including the AVIC-F500BT, AVIC-F700BT, AVIC-F900BT and Premier AVIC-F90BT, will have a GOOG-411 icon that, when pressed, will dial 1 (800) GOOG-411 (466-4411) via hands-free Bluetooth to access Google’s free GOOG-411 information service.

Pioneer is also adding the ability to send personalized search results from Google Maps to AVIC-F navigation systems via a software application called AVIC Feeds. The software will be available later this summer for free download from www.pioneerelectronics.com. Map information will be transferred to removable media as a custom point of interest entry.
