MBtech Group offers EMC compatibility testing

Apr 27, 2006 3:53 PM

MBtech Group is conducting electromagnetic compatibility testing within the DaimlerChrysler Technology Center (DCTC) in Auburn Hills, MI. The testing is intended to ensure that electronic modules meet government regulations related to communications interference.

"Today's automotive electronic modules can experience interference from a wide variety of sources, including radio and TV towers, cellular phones, burglar alarms, ham radios and other electronic equipment," said Vincent Verna, vice president, electrical & electronics, at MBtech North America. "As automotive electronic complexity continues to increase, compatibility with outside sources becomes more important."

Verna said MBtech's electromagnetic compatibility testing identifies sources of interference to electronic modules, simulates their effects, and corrects design issues prior to production.
