The MathWorks has introduced MATLAB 7.2, with support for Windows XP Professional x64 edition. MATLAB is used for performing mathematical calculations, analyzing and visualizing data, and developing software programs. Version 7.2 offers the ability to access and manipulate larger data sets and run larger, more data-intensive applications by taking advantage of the large address space available with Windows XP Professional x64 edition.

MATLAB 7.2 also offers improved capabilities for analyzing and visualizing time series data, including an interactive graphical interface. "By enabling users to manipulate data and time together, the software minimizes the risk of potential errors and reduces the time required to visualize and analyze various applications, including engine diagnostics," said Lisa Kempler, director of MATLAB products.
