Nov 8, 2007 3:41 PM

Magellan has introduced the RoadMate 1200, an entry-level portable navigation device with a pocket-sized form factor, a 3.5-inch QVGA anti-glare touch screen, and a user interface designed for fast input with minimal keystrokes. It’s priced at $229.00.

“IDC expects vendors to ship 20.3 million units worldwide in 2007,” said Christian Bubenheim, vice president of product marketing for Magellan. The RoadMate 1200 is preloaded with NavTeq maps of the 48 contiguous United States, Hawaii and Puerto Rico. It also features 1.3 million points of interest (POI), including gas stations, ATMs, hotels, restaurants, airports and more, with phone numbers, addresses and travel distance.
