Aglaia picks ADI Blackfin for driver assistance systems

Mar 1, 2006 12:25 PM

Visual sensor systems developer Aglaia GmbH has selected Analog Devices ADSP-BR561 Blackfin processor for use in Aglaia’s TEPLA multiprocessor platform for driver assistance applications such as night vision, lane departure warning, blind spot detection, headlight recognition, object recognition, and reversing assistance.

“We chose ADI’s Blackfin processor for our TEPLA product because of its combination of high performance, low power consumption and low cost--which allows us to execute complex image processing and provide new applications for the automotive sector at an attractive cost,” said Thomas Schilling, business director, Aglaia. “The key features for us are Blackfin’s integration of powerful embedded processor and DSP functions in a single chip, and its dual high-speed parallel peripheral interfaces (PPI) for frame grabbing and transfer.”
